WINTER 2018 TRAINING REGISTRATION
We are pleased to announce the start of a new 4-Week Athlete Development Program. One of our largest concerns at Dasovic-Neil Coaching is the proper periodization or organization of an athlete’s year to ensure that athletes are not over scheduled. Too often we feel that student-athletes, in particular, fail to program in enough down time and rest, a factor that can lead to eventually burn out or injury. With the our local soccer leagues winding down for the year and the approach of the winter break, we feel that there is an excellent time to gain some extra work in soccer-specific skills and movement, while still ensuring that the winter holidays remain a time for rest and family.
This 4-week Athlete Development Program is designed to work on fundamental movement skills related to football technique. We will work in a small group format, with a maximum player-coach ratio of 1:8, where athletes will be organized by approximate skill level. Each session will last 1-hour, within which we will look at certain basic fundamental movements, and teach proper foundational technique to improve soccer specific athleticism and technical execution. Specific details are listed below.
To ensure that these sessions are truly productive we have booked Burnaby 8-Rinks Indoor Soccer Facility. This will enable us to train with maximal focus without asking our athletes to overcome the distractions and physical demands of outside winter training.
